At Dharma Dreams Vocational Center, we’re excited to offer hands-on programs designed to prepare young adults with disabilities for fulfilling careers. For the fall of 2025, we’re proud to introduce two core programs. The programs offer high-level training in essential landscaping skills, as well as painting and plastering skills. Following this instruction, students will participate in on-the-job training with our trusted business partners, gaining real-world experience to build confidence and prepare for success in their respective industries.
LANDSCAPING
Learn the art of outdoor transformation! Do you love working outdoors? Is nature your happy place? If you take pride in the look of well-groomed lawns and outdoor spaces, then landscaping could be the perfect fit for you! Learn the skills to create and maintain beautiful landscapes, focusing on lawn care, garden upkeep, and outdoor aesthetics. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with the tools and equipment needed to perform these tasks safely and efficiently.
PLASTER & PAINTING
Unleash your creativity and master essential techniques in painting and plastering. This program is perfect for those interested in beautifying spaces while building a rewarding career. If you have an eye for detail and enjoy transforming spaces, this program is perfect for you. Receive high-level training in mixing and applying plaster, selecting colors, and painting walls and ceilings with precision and professionalism. Gain the skills needed to excel in this specialized field, focusing on techniques that set the foundation for a successful career in painting and plastering.

CARPENTRY
Carpentry is one of the most practical and versatile skills, useful for both home projects and professional careers. A program in this field could include training in one or many of these areas:
- Measuring, Cutting & Construction – techniques for assembling materials.
- Framing, Trimming & Finishing – How to build and install walls; skills in joint construction, clamping, gluing, staining, and finishing.
- House Construction Basics – Maybe start with a dog house to learn the basics of home construction, including roofing, windows and more
As we grow, we will determine whether to offer carpentry as a dedicated program or incorporate elements of it into a broader curriculum. If you or someone you know is interested in learning a trade, we'd love to hear your thoughts on what skills would be most valuable!
CULINARY ARTS
Who doesn't like food? Do you want to get better at making advanced culinary preparations? Would you love to work as a chef or a caterer? Then maybe this is the field for you. You will learn to measure, follow directions, cook, bake and provide restaurant-quality service. Of course, you will learn safe practices as well. This can lead to many opportunities - your own food truck! Become a blogger! A catering service, work in a restaurant, bakery and more.
NAIL TECHNICIAN
Beautiful nails really have become an art and a fashion statement these days. So, would you love to be a part of this growing trend? If you love beautiful nails and would love to help clients get amazing pedicures and manicures, then this might be right for you. Come learn how to remove old polish from fingernails and toe nails; shape nails; cut cuticles; apply new polish and maybe some designs; provide great hand and foot massages; sanitize equipment; communicate with customers and more.
